Hi

I installed the lastest versions of BF Survey Plus and BF Validate Plus on my customers site, but as soon as I have mandatory fields inside, I cannot change the error text language. It's always english and my site is german. So I get "bubble" messages like "Please fill out this field." or "Please select one of this options." on radio buttons.
This is with Firefox. With Safari I get a popup window with the self defined message in the options, but if I click this away, above the complete survey is displayed a pinkish background with text as "undefinedJa" or "undefinedNein", where the "Ja" and "Nein" is the option I set in the question...
I searched for this text within every file on the whole site and within the SQL database without luck.

So this is absolutely frustrating!

In the meantime I had to set all questions as not mandatory. Only Name and Email I cannot disable...

I would be very grateful for any help.

Best Regards,
Raimo

Hi Raimo,
The validation text you are referring to is the client side browser validation because the fields have aria-required="true" and required="required" set (around line 98 of /plugins/system/bfvalidationplus/bfvalidateplus.js). Presumably if your browser had German language set as default then these messages would be in German instead.
I believe it is possible to change the text of the browser validation using setCustomValidity, please refer to:
http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/forms/constraintvalidation/

Alternatively, just comment those two lines out in the BF Validate Plus javascript file, however be aware that the validation might not work exactly as expected for all question types on different browsers.

regards

Tim

Hi Tim

Thank you very much for this very quick answer!

I just have read the whole subject on html5rocks.

Now I am a little bit more frustrating than before but I see that it is definitively not a problem of your cool extension. I am really sorry!!

It seems, that it is too new and when I made manually changes, it makes no sense because every browser reacts in a different way...

Best Regards,
Raimo
