Latest Joomla version.

Hi there,

I have created conditional Yes/No questions, where some questions are hidden.

When the question is hidden, the navigation still appears, and the user has to click next, can this process be not done automatically?

So the user just moves straight onto the next question (bypassing the hidden question), rather than seeing navigation to click next?

Hi Steven,
The hidden questions shouldn't be on a page by themselves. When you are using a multipage survey, you can group questions together using the parent drop down. Each page will show one parent question, and all associated child questions. So I suggest you set the parent drop down on your hidden question so that it is on the same page as a question that is not hidden.

Thanks for reply.

Yes this did fix the issue I was having.

I now have a problem where I am trying to show Helptext after a specific answer (towards the end of conditional questions), however it 'breaks' the questionnaire, and it doesn't go beyond the first question, can you help please.

Thanks
Steven

It works when I don't assign a conditional element to it, when I do, the questionnaire stops working.

If you temporarily set error reporting to maximum in your global config, does it show an exact error message that might help pin point the problem?
Also do you get any javascript errors when you use firefox, tools->web developer->browser console?

I am aware that some characters such as & sometimes cause problems, and I will be implementing a fix in the next version (not sure if that is the problem here but I thought I'd mention it just in case).

Thanks, i've got it behaving the way I want.

I can't find the options to configure email notifications, does the administrator not receive an email when the survey has been completed?

Thanks

Also there is no thank you text appearing at the end of the survey.

Or the redirect doesn't work at the end of the Survey?

Can you help please.

For the emails, you need to set up an email template for that survey category. This contains the email address(s) you want to send to, as well as the trigger of the email (such as initial save). Please refer to http://tamlynsoftware.com/products/bf-survey/bf-survey-plus-user-guide-2/email-templates.html

Regarding the thank you text not appearing, this could be due to your site template missing the message queue, which is usually in the index.php file of your template.

This is usually directly above the main component area.

For the redirect url, you can set this in the category, and if set it will use that instead of just displaying the thank you text.

Let me know if you still have a problem.

Did you check that your template includes the code to display the message queue?

To rule out template issues, can you temporarily assign one of the default templates such as beez and see if you still have the same issue.

Regarding the URL redirect, try temporarily setting your error reporting in your global configuration to maximum, and see if you get an exact error message when the URL should have been triggered, which will hopefully help pinpoint the problem.

Tim
