#778 – Another type of seller mail

Joomla 3.4.8 v1.8.3
Hi Tim.
Right now bfauction_plus sends a congratulation mail for all finished auctions wither they have been sold or not. How do I add another seller mail, so that a seller gets a different mail for all finished auctions that have not been sold ? I know that your planning to include that in your new beta version, but this version is not fit for live sites yet.

Hi Divi,
You'd need to adjust the code in /components/com_bfauction_plus/controller.php

In the triggerBFAuctionEmail() function, you will see calls to

bfauction_plusController::triggerEmails("Seller", (int)$row->id, NULL);

You could potentially add a check in here to see if the item is actually sold or not, and trigger an alternative email.

I have looked and looked many times for the bfauction_plusController::triggerEmails("Seller", (int)$row->id, NULL); in /components/com_bfauction_plus/controller.php. But could not find any trace of that. Would you please tell me which lines I should look for ? I am using bfauction_plus v1.8.3

2- would you please give an example how the check should look like ?

But I don't really know how to add a check in to see if the item is actually sold or not, and trigger an alternative email. I am trying very hard to learn but I am not sure yet how to do that. Please tell me what should I add and change in the code

Jeff has added a new email type called SellerNotSold, which is included in v1.11.0 which has just been released.
