BF Auction Plus 3 Years
Joomla! version: (2.5.28)

I recently had an auction and this software had some flaws, maybe they're my fault, maybe not. I hope you can provide some insight!

1. A user who set a max bid at 25, was outbid by another user with a bid of 25. How can you be outbid with the same amount?

2. Users are outbidding themselves trying to raise max bid. Howcome when you raise your max bid you outbid yourself, and set the price at the increment above your previous max bid?

Thank You.

Number 1 could be a bug. Is this something you are able to reproduce with a test auction item?
What version of BF Auction Plus are you using?

Taking a quick look at the code, I'm thinking if there were a bug it would be due to code around line 248 of /components/com_bfauction_plus/controller.php

					if($allowAutoBidding){
						//need to check that current bid is greater than maxbid of previous bidder
						if($bid >= ($maxbid + (float)$bidIncrement) || ($bid >= $myresult->currentBid & $reverseAuction==0 & $myresult->highBidder == '0' & $bid>(float)$bidIncrement) ){
							//new bidder is now winning. Need to set bid to current bid, and set the max bid

Now I can't see anything obvious here. If the new bid was the same as the current maximum bid, then this should turn out false since we are adding the minimum bid increment (which presumably is at least 1).

Number 2, yeah I believe this is how the maximum bidding was implemented, there was never any consideration of raising your own maximum bid. I'll add this to Jeff's todo list to work on.

regards

Tim
