Hello,

When I try to order items in the item list in the admin back-end, some "ordering" numbers are duplicated for two distinct items, it seems categories are ordered in parallel sequence. However, because I have all items ending on the same date, I end up with my items ordered alternating in categories on the user side. I see 2 solution for this:

* Either make the ordering value unique, regardless of the category.
* Either sort by categories "ordering" order first, then item "ordering" order.

Thanks for the usual quick reply, it is appreciated!

Sorry for the delay.

For the back end items list, you can see the ordering in /administrator/components/com_bfauction_plus/models/items.php

//around line 224
// Add the list ordering clause.
$orderCol = $this->state->get('list.ordering');
$orderDirn = $this->state->get('list.direction');
if ($orderCol == 'a.ordering' || $orderCol == 'category_name') {
$orderCol = 'c.title '.$orderDirn.', a.ordering';
}
if($orderCol){
$orderCol='a.parent,'.$orderCol;
}else{
$orderCol='a.parent';
}
$query->order($db->escape($orderCol.' '.$orderDirn));

I wonder if there is a tiny bug here. I wonder if line 229/230 should be changed to:
}else if($orderCol){

Perhaps you can try this on your site and see if this solves the problem. Let me know as if it works I will include the fix in the next version release.

regards

Tim
